LEONARD R. KOLB
I was born on July 7, 1956, in Erie, Pennsylvania, USA, to my parents Leonard E. and Walburga Kolb. It is with humble thankfulness that I can say I was raised in a blessed New Apostolic home with my younger sister, Susan. I enjoyed the happy fellowship of a warm congregation, where I grew, learned of the Lord's work and stood to speak my vow and receive my confirmation blessing in 1971. I found my future helpmate in the many exciting youth activities, and I married Kathleen Dobmeier of Buffalo, New York, in 1979.
Being interested in my father's profession of building, I studied engineering and business in two universities and graduated a few months prior to our wedding. Upon completion of a four-year work internship in engineering, I received, with God's help, my professional engineer registration and license. Thereupon, I joined my father in our building business and also started a design firm.
In 1996, the District Apostle Wagner also asked me to care for the design, construction and renovation of our churches in the United States and Canada. This project has brought me great joy.
As time passed, I have held the following ministries:
Deacon 22 May 1977
Priest 27 Sep 1980
Evangelist
07 Sep 1985
District Evangelist
18 Jun 1986
District Elder 15 Jan 1989
Bishop 04 Oct 1992
Apostle 14 May 2000
DA Helper 04 May 2003
and our marriage has been blessed with 5 children, 4 daughters and a son.
As a Bishop, I cared for 72 congregations in the districts of Erie, Buffalo, Cleveland and St. Louis. When I became an Apostle, my responsibilities were expanded to include the San Francisco District and be responsible for the work in Uganda, until 2007 when this responsibility was handed over to District Apostle Helper Lubasi. During the seven years I served in Uganda, I found special happiness in working with the five Apostles and five Bishops there.
It is with deep concern and a moved heart that I step into the future to support our District Apostle and Chief Apostle, and give my entire self into the hands of our Heavenly Father to help in the completion of His work.
