The Primary class is a five year curriculum designed for children ages 6 through 10. In some areas the class may be split into two classes (by ages) in order to better meet the needs of the children, and they typically begin this class in September of the year they turn six. This curriculum takes the children on a journey through their Bible, including the Old and the New Testaments and the 10 Commandments. They are exposed to many familiar and not-so familiar stories while becoming more acquainted with their Bible, learning how to find things and how to use them more efficiently. More emphasis in this class level is placed on learning to apply the lessons learned from the stories to their everyday life of faith. The class lessons are structured in order to promote deeper thinking and reflection through journaling opportunities, interactive object talks and age-appropriate activities and discussions.
