Brilliant Gifts | December 11

“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”
1 Timothy 1: 6  NKJV

After Moses had an encounter with God and had come back from the mountain, it says in Scripture that his face shown with a particular brilliance (cf. Exodus 34: 29 ). In other words, every encounter we have with God must have its effect—a certain brilliance should be outwardly visible in us to show that we are children of God.

What do we do with this brilliance? As the Apostle Paul states in 1 Timothy 1:6 , we must “stir up” the gifts given to us through our encounters with God and use them to serve Him and others. An unused gift becomes dull and fades. To prevent this we must utilize these gifts, allowing them to work within us. Let us not permit the brilliant gifts of the Holy Spirit to fade!

CONTEMPLATION:
In Romans 8:28 it says, “...and we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.”

God works through different people in different ways, but He achieves His purpose through them all.  Have you discovered what gifts God has given you to achieve His purpose?
