“My eyes fail from searching Your word, saying: When will You comfort me?”
Psalm 119:82 NKJV
How does the Lord comfort?
He endows us with strengthening experiences. At the time when Jacob moved out of his parental home, his future path was uncertain. Then, he dreamt of the ladder reaching to heaven; what an enormous comfort this must have been!
The Lord makes us realize that He is with us. The disciples traveling to Emmaus were comforted when they realized that their companion was the Lord Himself.
He leads us onto heights of faith. The three disciples, Peter, James and John, who accompanied the Lord to the mountain of transfiguration, apparently felt at ease because they even wanted to build tabernacles. How much comfort must this experience have meant for them!

Do I see evidence of where God has comforted me?
Do I seek God’s divine comfort, or do I try to deal with things in my own ways?
