Choosing to be joyful | December 24

“Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.”

Revelation 19:7  NKJV

No matter our life circumstances, the Lord has provided enduring reasons to “be glad and rejoice.” First, as stated in the Bible verse, the marriage of the Lamb is imminent. Jesus the Savior of mankind is coming to be with us! There is also joy in hearing His voice in all the ways He speaks to us, in remembering His glorious works and in being a part of a congregation and all the activity that happens there.

We can also choose to find joy in our difficulties, as the Apostle Peter expressed: “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you..., but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s suffering.” (1 Peter 4: 12-13) Considering the Lord Jesus, we can find joy even under afflictions, pressure and suffering.

Does the “sound” of Christ’s voice make me glad? And how have I heard it today?
