What is Sin? | Week of January 23

Luke 16:23 NKJV

And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

For further understanding, reference Luke 16: 19-31

In the parable about the rich man and poor Lazarus, one may ask, what was wrong in the life of the rich man? He was rich, but was that his mistake? Most likely not. His shortcoming was that he did not take care of the poor man. He was not aware that this was a sin and only cared for himself.

When his life came to an end, he came to dwell in the yonder world, in the realm where he was not happy. The might of sin bound him and that same power of sin is also the danger today.

Am I unaware of sin that I am committing?
I want to look deeper, and be guided by the Holy Spirit to distinguish exactly what is sin in my life.
