Healing grace | Week of April 16

Matthew 9:12 NKJV

When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.”

As Christ said, the healthy have no need of a physician. Likewise, grace is nothing special to those who feel they are strong enough and believe that they do everything right. But those who are conscious of their sickness and imperfections will seek the presence of the Great Physician of the soul, and will turn to the Lord with complete longing.

Would you say that you are already perfect? Sometimes we are very thoughtless about our striving for Christ-like perfection. We may often gloss over our spiritual challenges and issues with the opinion that they will somehow get better on their own.

Do not be so thoughtless in your life of faith! You always need grace. Take your soul’s salvation seriously, and seek the powers of the Lord to heal the sicknesses of your soul. His full grace will then be revealed.

What “sicknesses” of the soul affects my life of faith? Do I seek grace to heal my spiritual challenges?
