A new start | Week of June 18

John 5:14 NKJV

Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more…”

The Lord Jesus once healed a man whom He later encountered in the temple. There the Lord said to him: “See, you have been made well. Sin no more …”

Just as this man was able to make a new start physically, he was again able to walk and move about freely. This admonition of Jesus was also to trigger a new start spiritually.

Take a moment to focus on Holy Communion, including the Lord’s Prayer, the forgiveness of sins, and the dispensation and partaking of the body and blood of Jesus. If there has been anything that was not good in the past, each absolution offers you the chance to start over. What a marvelous act of our God! For example, you can make a new start in your family, your marriage, your congregation, with your neighbors, or at your workplace.

Where do I need a new beginning? I will begin again today, with a clean and fresh start.
