Intensive and invaluable | Week of July 30

Hebrews 2:1 NKJV

Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.

We must be aware of the significance of the body and blood of Jesus.

Because we celebrate Holy Communion in every divine service, it could become a routine and lose its depth and meaning. Is there anything which could bring us closer to the Lord than the body and blood of Jesus Christ? No! Nothing is as intensive and invaluable as what is offered to us in Holy Communion.

“This is the body and blood of Jesus given for you.” You should not only hear these words, but must allow them to absorb into your hearts. With these words, the Lord Jesus renews His covenant with you time and time again. He confirms it by saying: “Yes, my life penetrates your heart.”

This is a wonderful gift which we will never comprehend as long as we are on earth. But once we are in heaven as the bride of Christ with Him for all eternity, we will understand.

How can I deepen my experience with Christ to allow His life to completely penetrate my heart? Do I fully prepare my heart and soul for each celebration of Holy Communion?
