Free from the burden of sin | Week of August 6

Luke 21:34 NKJV

But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.

In this passage, Christ encourages us not to burden ourselves unnecessarily.

Naturally many cares and concerns of life weigh you down. Though, do you realize the burden placed on you through sin? This burden can cause you to fall and feel trapped in a way that you cannot be freed. How can you move and progress entangled with such a burden?

The grace of God’s forgiveness is the only way you can be free.

Have I felt inexplicably weighed down lately? Christ, please show me if I am trapped in sin that I don’t recognize.
