Giving praise and thanks to God | Week of October 7th

Psalm 96:2, Sing to the Lord, bless His name; proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.

From the sermon series: Living by the gospel

Psalm 96 exhorts believers to praise God. In our praise, we can recognize His character and His plan of salvation.

Who is your favorite person to talk about? Maybe if you are newly married or in a relationship, your favorite person to talk about is your spouse or partner. Maybe if you are a parent or grandparent, your favorite person to talk about is your child or grandchild. When you truly love someone, you can’t help but talk about them with other people. They are constantly on your mind. What if we feel this same way about God? What if we are so in love with Him that we always want to talk about Him, His nature and awesome qualities, and the work that He has done in our lives? If we feel like this, then our lives are spent in constant worship of God, whether it is through prayer, through music, through our relationships, through how we act, through our profession, etc.

Journal Prompt: Write down the reasons that you love God and bring Him thanks. Consider sharing some of these reasons with people you see and interact with throughout your week.
