Reciprocating God’s love| Week of February 10

1 Corinthians 13:13, And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

From the sermon series: The law of Christ

In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul writes to the Corinthians about being unified as the body of Christ. When we live in community with each other and accept the diversity of our personalities and our gifts, then we can understand real love, which is what 1 Corinthians 13 is about.

When you consider the gospel of Christ, it boils down to one word: love. God loves us so much that He sent His Son to earth. Jesus, out of love for His Father and us, sacrificed Himself on the cross. Early Christians and Christians today express their love for God and one another, selflessly serving to reveal the goodness of God in the world. Truly, what is more important than love?

Journal Prompt: Read 1 Corinthians 13. What verse speaks to you, and why?
