The New Apostolic Church USA District Creates a Special Charitable Fund

(1/9/2005) Sea Cliff, New York - The New Apostolic Church USA District is instituting a special charitable fund in order to address the needs of the poor and those who have suffered under catastrophic events and natural disasters.

The fund is being established in order to fulfill one of the purposes of the Church, which is “to carry one another in charity and goodwill”. It shall serve as a vehicle to make special donations beyond our regular congregational offerings. Together with our prayers we want to be an example of what King David said in Psalm 41:1&2 (part), “Blessed is he who considers the poor; the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the earth.”

Contributions so designated by church members, guests or any other person or company will be separately accounted for and used to provide worldwide relief to the poor.  Our immediate priority is to the victims of the tsunami in Asia including, of course, our affected members in that region where appropriate.  Future donations will also be used towards general benevolence programs that support, for example, Aids Awareness, Drought Relief, Natural Disaster Aid, Orphans and Widows, and Water Well Projects.  No administrative costs will be deducted from contributions earmarked to this World Relief fund.

Donations for aid to those affected by the deadly tsunami in Asia and any future special relief donations can be made by check or wire as follows:

During the year we will post on our website (www.newapostolicchurch.org) examples of how these relief funds are utilized around the world.

We continue to pray for all those who have entered into eternity and those who are still suffering as a result of this tragedy. Your continued prayers and support will be much appreciated.
