Little drops of water | October 23

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
Matthew 5: 9  NKJV

As the Son of God, Jesus provides the most wonderful example of being a peacemaker, even in unexpected ways. While sitting at a well in Samaria, He met a woman and began a conversation with her about water. At first they spoke only of natural water, but the Lord Jesus then took this to another level. He said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” (John 4:10 ) This woman was astonished and listened to that which the Lord Jesus brought. This is a good example for us, since the Lord Jesus did not only speak of natural things, but also tried to bring some drops of the water of life into the conversation.

Do we talk about only natural things? The real peacemakers are not bound only to their natural thinking and ways, but they try to use every opportunity to bring to others a few words of testimony, or drops of the water of life. Just a few drops is enough. When we try to bring even a little bit of a different understanding to others and open their eyes to eternal values, that is a wonderful thing. These are the peacemakers of today.

How can I “sprinkle” a few drops of the water of life into my conversations with others? How about through my actions?
