A convincing faith | February 19

“He [Abraham] did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.”

Romans 4: 20-21  NKJV

We have been given magnificent promises. The most beautiful of these is the assurance: “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me…”

The question arises, how can we acquire such conviction of faith as Abraham exhibited?

Our faith can be strengthened when we absorb the word of God and live our faith. When the disciples were with the Lord and followed Him – i.e. lived their faith – they became strong in faith despite many uncertainties. For us too, there is only this one way: we must hear the word of God and conduct ourselves in accordance with it. We must live our faith.

Am I fully convinced in God’s promises to me? Can others see and be fully convinced that I am living my faith?
