Plant and do not destroy | April 9

“Again the word of the Lord came to me, saying: ... For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land; I will build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up.”

Jeremiah 24: 4,6 NKJV

In our time today the Lord is also building His Work; each congregation is such a “garden” of the Lord. We are called upon to build the Work of God. This great planting occurs when we actively participate in the congregation, continually intercede for others in our prayers, and act as an example.

One might pull down or destroy by being entirely passive. Another way to destroy would be if we sought our own benefit and our personal honor.

If we are not watchful then we would even pull plants out. For example, we could cause others to no longer feel at home in fellowship by not esteeming, respecting or understanding them.

May each congregation be a blooming garden! We are called upon to plant souls into God’s field which means to love all wholeheartedly.

What weeds do I have to “pluck out” of myself?

I will always be self-critical that I build and do not destroy, that I plant and do not pluck up!
