Pharisaic voices | April 16

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.”

Zechariah 9:9  NKJV

The emphasis of the prophet’s message was on the joy with which the people in Jerusalem waited for the Lord, their King.

Not all of the people were filled with such a desire to bring praises however. The Pharisees reproached Jesus and told Him to rebuke His disciples. But the Lord did not give in to the urging of the Pharisees. (Luke 19:40)

Today there are likewise certain voices that would seek to persuade us. Such voices do not rejoice over the Lord’s entry into our families and congregations, and would also seek to silence our profession of the Lord’s greatness.

Let us not listen to the seductive voices of our time that seek to influence us with their message!
