Opening the door | Week of December 10

Revelation 3:20 NKJV

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Our God knocks and offers grace and forgiveness. In response, we can open the door, from the inside. It is up to us whether we open the door or not. In other words, our God does not force Himself on us; He wishes for us to give our hearts to Him voluntarily.

For you to open the door to Him, it is necessary that you are willing to forgive. It requires faith, trust and repentance. Consider how and when you have sinned.

Today there is such a liberal and broad-minded approach to sin. Many are quickly prepared to cover it with a blanket of excuses and self-pity. One excuse may be presented as: “That is the way I am; I really can’t do things any differently.” Standing up to your sins allows you to develop inwardly. Here, God gives us the necessary strength to overcome and lead a life according to His will.

Eliminating my excuses, my goal is to open the door to a relationship with my God. To open this door, who can I forgive today?
