Following despite our weaknesses | Week of March 27th

Luke 22:61-62, And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had said to him, “Before the rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” So Peter went out and wept bitterly.

From the sermon series: Passiontide

In these verses from Luke, Peter is reminded that Jesus had predicted he would betray the Lord three times. Jesus knew Peter’s weaknesses right from the start and yet still loved him and prepared him to proclaim the gospel after His death.

As humans, we all have our weaknesses. The great thing is that our God already knows all of our weaknesses and still loves us anyways. We don’t want to use our weaknesses as an excuse to not live our lives aligned to the Gospel and not carry out God’s will. When we have faith in Him that means we trust that He will give us the strength to live through any trial or do any task that will ultimately bring us and others closer to Him.

Why is recognizing your weaknesses an important part of deciding to live to the Gospel and carry out God’ will?
