New Apostolic Church USA

The presence of the Holy Spirit | Week of September 30th

1 Corinthians 12:7, But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all.

From the sermon series: The Creed

Paul’s letter to the Corinthians teaches these new Christians that they have all been given gifts from God in order to serve each other and the church of Christ.

The early apostolic congregations were communal. They ministered to each other and edified the Body of Christ under the direction of the Holy Spirit and the guidance of the apostles. Each member was considered a valuable part of the Body of Christ, and the congregation depended on each other for encouragement and strength. Today, we seek the same. Ministering to one another is a call that comes directly out of the gospel of Christ. Our spiritual gifts are a tool for strengthening individual souls, while at the same time helping to build healthy congregations. We can each recognize and contribute our spiritual gifts for the benefit of all.

Journal Prompt: Have you seen the Holy Spirit work through others in your congregation? Consider affirming them for serving God and allowing Him to work through them.
