Glory be to God, who has made us rich! | Week of December 30th

Psalm 40:5, Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works which You have done; and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order; if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

From the sermon series: End of year service

In Psalm 40, we see that David praises God for his wonderful works and for delivering him from a time of distress. David was patient through this time because he trusted that God would help him.

Have you ever asked God to do something for you, and became impatient when He didn’t deliver in a reasonable amount of time? When we forget that God’s will is superior to ours and that He works all things for our good and in the time that He deems right, it is easy to get impatient when we don’t get what we want when we want it. Perhaps you remember a time when you were impatient for an answer from God, or you are even still now waiting on an answer from Him. Consider looking at David’s psalm to help you realign your thoughts. Many, O Lord my God, are Your wonderful works… they are more than can be numbered. As you reflect on 2019, think of the many wonderful works God has done in your life. Let your praise for His good works help give you the patience and trust needed to wait for God’s answer, whatever it may be.
