You are faithful! | Week of November 23

Deuteronomy 7:9, Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments…

From the sermon series: Who do you say that I am?

In the beginning of Deuteronomy 7, Moses reminds the Israelites that God chose them as His people because He loves them, and so He made a covenant with them to save them from the Egyptians.

The Israelites experienced firsthand that God keeps His promises. Throughout the Bible, we can read many accounts of when God has been faithful to His word. And because we are children of God, we also have the assurance that He keeps His promises to us. Some of these promises, which we have already experienced, include the forgiveness of our sins if we believe in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and the return of His Son.

Journal Prompt: What other fulfilled promises of God have you experienced in life?
