When you pray...

Divine service theme for the month of September "When you pray..."

In the Sermon on the Mount, as recorded in Matthew 5-7 and Luke 11, Jesus began His teaching on prayer with the words, “And when you pray…” before explaining a few ways to not pray. Then He gave His followers a model prayer, the Lord’s Prayer.

This month, we are going to explore various phrases from this prayer in our divine services. In our small group series for the month of September, we’re going to look at Jesus’ prayers, specifically the High Priestly Prayer in John 17. Christ is the quintessential paragon of prayer and we have much to learn. Further, all believers can adopt the Lord’s Prayer into their own individual prayer life.

In each service, we will not only focus on what each phrase means, but how each phrase reveals a both/and component.
