PA District's Operation Christmas Child

November 23, 2015 Pennsylvania District

For those familiar with this venture by Samaritan’s Purse, you know the excitement and joy experienced in our congregations when young and old participate by filling shoe boxes with fun toys, crafts, school supplies and hygiene items. These will be sent around the globe to help children in need and to spread the word of the gospel of Christ.

Here is a sampling of the love expressed during this endeavor: Lancaster included simple dresses and tote bags sewn lovingly throughout the year by a sister in the congregation. Limerick was blessed by a donation to add a soccer ball in most of its boxes intended for villages with a pump to inflate them. Bucks held a lively Friday night ‘Pizza and Packing Party’ and continued after a Sunday service.

Our prayers continue to cover all 526 shoe boxes as they take the next step on their journey. We can’t wait to learn which countries receive them. ‘What goes into the box is fun. What comes out is eternal.’
