Chief Apostle Visit to LA

For the first time in his ministry, Chief Apostle Schneider visited the west coast of USA at Los Angeles on November 25th to the 28th.

On Saturday, the day began with a meeting with the apostles and bishops. The discussions centered around the concept of ministry and the authority and task of the apostles and ministers in the congregation. A local sister facilitated a Bible study for the wives that focused on the 2016 yearly theme.

Thereafter, Chief Apostle Schneider met with a youth group from the area for a discussion and question-and-answer period. The evening continued with a worship evening hosted by some of the youth from Los Angeles.

At the supper afterwards, which included priests from the Southern California area and their wives, the Chief Apostle shared some thoughts about serving as a minister.

On Sunday, Chief Apostle Schneider held the divine service that was based on Isaiah 48:17, “Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.’” As the first Sunday of Advent, the Chief Apostle called attention to Mary who knew the birth of the Savior was imminent because she was able to feel the life she was carrying. We also carry the life of God in us which is developing. Do we also feel this life growing and thus indicating to us that Jesus is coming? For Advent today, the Godly life we have received through the rebirth creates the longing for Jesus’ coming.

Close to 700 attended the divine service which was webcast across the USA.

In the afternoon, the Chief Apostle met with some young leaders in the LA area to share their experiences in their congregations, after which he gave his feedback and thoughts. The young adults expressed their concerns and hopes for the future of the church and left the discussion feeling energized to continue.
