A Milestone Birthday

December 18, 2016 Limerick, PA

Following service, our dear sister in faith, Pauline Standhardt, received a special blessing with the words provided by Evangelist Lessig. Knowing how active she is and has been in helping along in the congregation for many years, he looked in the New Testament to learn of the women who helped the work along at that time. The efforts of two women were specifically noted by Apostle Paul in his letter in Philippians 4:1-7 – ”… help these women who labored with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life. Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

The Evangelist expressed how perfectly these exact words can be said to Pauline for her faithful support with her husband in their serving in the church building as well as her singing in the choir, her part in many fellowships at church and in their home, always done with a gentle spirit and unselfishness. He reminded Pauline that the Lord is near and said, let the peace of the Lord Jesus move through you. The Evangelist was happy to wish her a very blessed 85th birthday as was her family and our entire congregation. We then spent a nice time together reminiscing at a light fellowship.
