District Apostle Freund announces his successor for the District Church USA

July 20, 2008 - Sea Cliff, New York

After a special divine service dedicated for the youth of the USA District on Sunday, July 20, District Apostle Richard C. Freund announced his successor, Apostle Leonard R. Kolb.  The announcement was made in a video recording, which was transmitted via satellite to all the congregations in the United States. 

In the presence of all the District Apostles and District Apostle Helpers of the world, District Apostle Freund will be placed into retirement on October 12, 2008 in a divine service in New York, which will be conducted by Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber, at which time Apostle Kolb will be ordained into the ministry of District Apostle.  This service will also be transmitted via satellite throughout the United States.

District Apostle Freund was ordained as District Apostle for the District Church USA on May 14, 2000 in Pasadena, California, by Chief Apostle Richard Fehr and will have served as District Apostle for over eight years.  The New Apostolic Church USA is comprised of approximately 2.5 million members spread throughout 37 countries and territories, including the United States of America.  District Apostle Freund will turn 69 years old on November 2, 2008 and will retire to Virginia, where he and his wife will be closer to their children and grandchildren.
